UPDATE — 1/20/26 at 3:41 p.m. ET: American chess grandmaster Daniel Naroditsky died of accidental poisoning after ingesting a lethal drug cocktail, the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner told TMZ on Tuesday, January 20.
A toxicology report revealed that Naroditsky had a combination of methamphetamine and amphetamine in his system. The report also found mitragynine, a key component of the supplement Kratom.
