American-born job growth surged by close to 2 million in the last 12 months as jobs among foreign-born individuals declined during the same period, according to data by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). The number of native-born Americans aged 16 and over increased between July 2024, under the Biden administration, and July 2025 by 1,998,000, an increase of 1.52 percent.
