If you know your colonial-era Caribbean forts, then you might think this pic is from Puerto Rico. After all, the iconic sentry boxes at El Morro and San Cristóbal look a lot like this, right? They do, of course, but this is not Old San Juan. This is actually Martinique. Specifically, you can find this old, stone structure just outside the imposing walls of Fort Saint Louis. Even more specifically, it’s across the street in La Savane; landlocked and a good bit away from the fort. So, what’s the deal with this wayward Fort Saint-Louis sentry box?
