The Boston Police Department ignored all detainer requests made by federal immigration authorities last year in compliance with the city's sanctuary law, according to police Commissioner Michael Cox. In a Jan. 12 letter from Cox to City Clerk Alex Geourntas, the commissioner noted that all 57 requests made by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) were rejected.
