The newly restructured seven-member Birmingham Water Works Board made a major change at its June 24 meeting by voting to rename the utility. The board approved an amendment to the utility’s Certificate of Incorporation, officially changing its name to City of Birmingham Regional Water Works, doing business as Central Alabama Water, in a 5-2 vote.
