New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is responding to the viral claim that he is somehow to blame for the New York Mets’ 11-game losing streak.
“I’ll say there’s a lot of baseball left to be played and I am still keeping the faith, as I know that many Mets fans are across the city,” Mamdani told reporters during a Tuesday, April 12, press conference.
The Mets are 7-15 on the season and have not won a game since April 7, two days before Mamdani, 34, stopped by Citi Field and enjoyed a photo op with the team’s mascots, Mr. and Mrs. Met.
