Mom, 20, Fatally Shot While Sleeping in Bed With Her 1-Year-Old Daughter
A 20-year-old mother was fatally shot when a bullet entered her bedroom through a window while she was sleeping alongside her 1-year-old daughter. Maria Barrios Ventura was asleep in her bedroom in Los Angeles on Sunday, July 19, when she was struck by a bullet around 3:35 a.m., according to CBS News. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has since identified Ventura as the victim in an online report.
