Man Convicted in Death of Son, 2 Months, After Keeping His Corpse for Days
A Texas man has been found guilty in connection to the death of his 2-month-old son after he kept the baby’s corpse at his home for several days. Miguel Angel Ortiz Jr. was convicted by a jury in Hidalgo County on Tuesday, June 9, on one count of injury to a child by omission following the June 2025 death of his son. The jury recommended that Ortiz, 38, be sentenced to 30 years in state prison. However, his fate will ultimately be determined by the judge overseeing the case at a later date.
