The race to replace term-limited Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall in the 2026 Republican Party primary election is off to a fast and big-money start.
Jay Mitchell, who stepped down from his office as Associate Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court last month to run for AG, transferred $638,538.01 from his previous campaign balance. In the month of June, he reported raising $627,840.00, bringing his current total campaign war chest to $1,288,362.86.
