Tomorrow on July 1, Amtrak is set to announce the official start date, schedule, and fares for its Gulf Coast “Mardi Gras Service,” which will restore passenger rail service between New Orleans and Mobile for the first time since 2005.
Amtrak Vice President Nicole Bucich and Southern Rail Commission Chairman Knox Ross will hold news conferences at six cities along the 145‑mile route, joined by mayors, tourism officials, and freight railroad partners.
