A Texas man accused of breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s home and violently beating her, as well as threatening to kill her, was handed a decades-long prison sentence, authorities said.
Joshua Bermea, of New Braunfels, was sentenced to 40 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to burglary of a habitation with intent to commit a felony other than theft, the Comal County Criminal District Attorney’s Office announced on Thursday, April 2.
Bermea also pleaded guilty to a possession of a controlled substance charge and was sentenced to an additional 10 years in prison, according to a news release...
