Figure Skater Kira Meyer, 12, Dead After Scooter Accident on Mother's Day

South African figure skater Kira Meyer died at age 12 following an electric scooter accident. “I have been sitting with my phone on my lap for the last 30 minutes to get the words,” Kira’s mom, Angelique Meyer, shared in a Facebook post on Saturday, May 16. “Kira was declared brain dead by 3 doctors yesterday.
