N.C. woman allegedly stabbed 10-year-old sibling to death and left body in backyard

HALIFAX COUNTY, N.C. (TCD) -- A 22-year-old woman is in custody after allegedly killing her young sibling in their home this week. On the night of Tuesday, Jan. 16, the Halifax County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a missing 10-year-old child at a residence in the 2000 block of Beaverdam Road outside of Enfield, North Carolina. At the scene, deputies learned the victim's mother found her child dead in the backyard. According to the sheriff's office, the deceased victim had sustained multiple stab wounds.
