MUSKEGON, Mich. (TCD) -- A mother will spend the rest of her life in prison for abusing and starving her 15-year-old son to death in what the judge called "systematic, consistent torture." Court records show Shanda Vander Ark received a life sentence for murder and 50 to 100 years for first-degree child abuse for killing her son, Timothy Ferguson.
