Ivey announces $2.1M for state recreational projects

The state of Alabama is receiving more than $2 million for recreational projects, Gov. Kay Ivey announced Tuesday. The money was made available through the Land and Water Conservation Fund, a U.S. Department of Interior program to aid states in the growth and preservation of outdoor recreational facilities. “The additions and improvements resulting from these awards are another reason for Alabamians to take advantage of the great outdoors at local parks across the state,” Ivey said. “I commend local leaders for understanding that parks and playgrounds contribute so much to a community’s health
