Beryl makes landfall in Texas, knocking out power to more than 1 million

Hurricane Beryl swept ashore as a Category 1 storm with heavy rains and powerful winds, and knocking out power to more than 1 million homes and businesses as fast-rising waters caused street flooding and prompted rescues.
