With temperatures approaching zero in north Alabama to 20 degrees on the Gulf Coast this week, the Alabama Department of Transportation is monitoring the potential for severe winter weather to create hazardous conditions across the Yellowhammer State.
In areas anticipated to experience the most severe conditions, ALDOT said its personnel are monitoring forecasts and roadway conditions with equipment prepared to pretreat roads this weekend if conditions allow. Crews are prepared to treat roads following any wintry precipitation.
