Woman arrested nearly 16 years after newborn girl was found dead in dumpster

UNION CITY, Calif (TCN) -- Police announced the arrest of a 46-year-old woman in connection with the death of a newborn girl found in a dumpster nearly 16 years ago. According to the Union City Police Department, on May 18, 2009, a man looking for recyclables near the Parkside Apartments discovered the deceased baby, named by officers as Matea Esperanza, meaning "Gift from God" in Hebrew and "Hope" in Spanish.
