Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Legend made an unexpected call in Acapulco, Mexico, on Saturday — marking the cruise line’s first visit to the iconic Pacific coastal city in more than 15 years.
The surprise stop came after the ship’s itinerary was altered due to a weather diversion. The visit was met with excitement on the ground as the ship’s return offered a glimpse of Acapulco’s reemerging cruise tourism scene. Carnival last visited the city in 2010.
