A new wave of leisure travel is on the horizon — and an upstart carrier is now coming to the Caribbean, Caribbean Journal has learned. Breeze Airways, the upstart U.S. airline which aims at connecting underserved markets — has officially been certified as a U.S. Flag Carrier by the FAA — the first airline in more than a decade to earn that distinction.
The milestone opens the door to the carrier’s first international routes, with seasonal service to Cancun, Punta Cana and Montego Bay beginning this winter, subject to government approval. The airline is also opening a new crew base in Raleig
